Discover our new Industrial Pumps Learning Solution

Many types of workers deal with pumps in their day-to-day, especially industrial mechanics, maintenance technicians, and process operators and technicians. How can they develop a sound understanding of pumping circuits and necessary skills for installation, operation, maintenance, optimization, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial pumps?

Our new learning solution goes beyond pumps themselves; it allows learners – future or current workers – to assemble pumping circuits quickly and easily for a comprehensive hands-on study of pumps within circuits, with a focus on efficiency and troubleshooting, two key requirements for success in the workplace.

The modular structure of the learning solution allows you to precisely match your training and budget requirements. Have a look!

Highlights:

  • Industrial components adapted for didactic purposes
  • Practical, versatile workbench with storage
  • Fault-insertion capability for troubleshooting skills development
  • Turnkey learning material

Provide contextualized, realistic training opportunities.

Turnkey courses are the foundation of the learning experience, with pedagogical objectives aligned to professional requirements. The study of pumps in a complete and functioning circuit facilitates a deeper understanding of their role in industrial processes.

The project-based pedagogical approach enables learners to apply their skills in a real-world setting, further enhancing their comprehension of the tasks they will perform.

  • Easier lesson planning with turnkey course material and practical activities
  • Development of both technical and transversal skills (problem-solving, critical thinking…)
  • Multimedia integration (animations, videos, pictures…) for enhanced learning
  • Courses offered as digital courses in our portal Festo LX or as workbooks

The courses' learning activities are performed using the corresponding hardware package.

Single-pump systems *

This course covers how centrifugal pumps work, how to operate and maintain them in a pumping system, and how to troubleshoot common failures.

Main components: Pumping circuit bench, centrifugal pump and motor, ball valve, globe valve, manometer, rotometer, accessories

Pump performance

This course covers pump curves, efficiency, output control methods and common issues such as cavitation and air ingestion.

Main components: Magnetic-inductive flowmeter, digital pressure gauge, accessories.

Requires the single-pump package

Multiple-pump systems

This course covers the installation of pumps in parallel and in series and the comparison of their pressure and flow characteristics to single-pump setups.

Main components: Motor and pump, check valve, accessories

Requires the single-pump package and performance package

Positive-displacement pumps

This course covers how external gear pumps work, and how to operate and maintain them in a pumping system.

Main components: External-gear pump, accessories

Requires the single-pump package and performance package

The workbench is designed to be practical and versatile.

Hands-on experimentation with industrial pump systems is conducted on the ergonomic and rugged pumping circuit bench. It is designed to withstand the rigors of the workshop environment while providing a comfortable workspace for building circuits. The mobile bench is designed following the 5-S principles to promote a tidy and organized workplace, helping learners to develop good work habits.

  • Large, perforated worksurface: multiple circuit layouts
  • Lockable drawers with component outlines: safe storage and easy inventory
  • Water-resistant control panel: safety and durability
  • Water circulates in a closed loop: practical and ecological
  • Removable worksurface and tank for easy cleaning
  • Variable-frequency drive for various operating scenarios
  • Power and control devices and cables safely housed inside the bench
  • Back access to the inputs and outputs of the variable-frequency drive for custom projects

Circuits can be assembled in minutes.

Learners build pumping circuits from scratch to perform practical experimentation. This approach helps them gain a deeper system understanding. To streamline the learning process and make the most of laboratory sessions, several features facilitate circuit assembly and disassembly.

  • Turnkey hardware packages
  • Quick component installation
  • Cam-lever type connections
  • Push-in fittings
  • Easy pump priming
